This document was prepared as one of the activities of Task
Group 1 (TG1) of the Structural Stability Research Council
(SSRC) during the period between August 2001 and February
2003. A special Research Inventory Sub-committee was struck
to carry out this task. The document, which is in essence
an annotated bibliography on work specifically related to
centrally loaded columns, is intended to achieve two primary
objectives.
1. To be a single-source comprehensive
resource for researchers and practicing
engineers searching for information related to centrally
loaded columns; and
2. To provide a starting point for the
evaluation and assessment of future research needs
in this area.
